5 tips to choose the best holiday gifts
As the holidays are approaching, you need to start thinking about what to give to your family, friends, coworkers and even event attendees. This could be a great opportunity to have fun and get closer to those around you. Of course, not every gift will be the same, but you could use a similar process to get to the final decision, just follow these 5 easy tips:
1- Make a list of all the things he/she is passionate about:
Write down ideas off all the things you recall they talked eagerly about, maybe their favorite show or activity he or she has always wanted to try. And match it to some item that will be a reminder or a way to get closer to that passion.
2- Make a list of all the things that he/she needs:
If you constantly spend time with that person, I’m sure you’ve heard him/her talking about a “small problem”, find something that could help them solve it. For example, maybe the person says he/she takes a lot of time planning events, maybe gift he/she an event management app.
3- Do a little stalking:
Now, they may be some people you don’t know that well. Use your detective skills to look in their social media channels for clues. You might even find direct suggestions or Wishlist.
4- Personalize it:
Complement the gift with something that makes them think of you. Maybe you could draw on the wrapping paper or cook them some muffins. It’s really, up to you and what represents you the most.
5- Give to a Charity:
Investigate what is a cause that he/she supports and donate to a charity. Maybe he/she is a dog lover, give it to a dog shelter. Or he/she is an advocate for sustainability, give it to an ecological reserve. And so on.
